- Whether the commodity code is the right one, since the measures follow from it.
What to check across the Domain and value errors
A code or value is not recognised, does not apply to the commodity, conflicts with a tariff measure or condition, or is duplicated. Check the code list for the element, the measures for the commodity code on the UK Trade Tariff, and any preference, unit or document code tied to those measures.
What does CDS40011 mean?
CDS40011 means a value required by the commodity code has not been completed, such as a supplementary unit. HMRC's own advice is to check the Measures column for the commodity code on the UK Trade Tariff, which shows what the code requires, and to confirm the commodity code itself is right.
